What is Hop?
Hop Network is a decentralized alternative to VPNs that uses MegaETH as its coordination layer.
Instead of trusting a single provider with all your traffic, Hop routes your connection through two independent operator nodes: one entry node and one exit node. Because these nodes are separate and run by different operators, no single party can link your identity to your browsing activity.

How it Works
Hop uses smart contracts on MegaETH for node discovery and coordination.
The HopRegistry acts as a public directory of available nodes, and the HopRouteCoordinator broadcasts route requests as onchain events. When you connect, your device encrypts a request, posts it to the coordinator, and the selected nodes configure secure WireGuard tunnels to relay your traffic.
This architecture has several advantages: no centralized authority, no logs, censorship resistance, and stronger privacy than traditional VPNs.
MegaETH’s real-time blockspace allows routing requests to happen instantly, making the connection experience feel seamless. Hop also plans to bootstrap reliable node operators using EigenLayer, tapping into a large pool of staked and economically incentivized infrastructure providers.
The result is a fast, private, and resilient overlay network designed for the real world. One built around decentralization, encrypted routing, and high-performance blockchain coordination.
